About White Pyr Studio
Web work with a small-business heart.
White Pyr Studio exists for the person taking a leap of faith—betting on an idea, building something of their own, and needing a dependable web partner who understands what that investment means.
We design, build, improve, and support websites without losing sight of the business behind the screen. Our clients should feel they have a partner they can trust and rely on: honest about what is needed, careful with resources, and genuinely invested in the outcome.
“We treat our clients’ businesses like our own.”
Ideas get discussed over dinner, passed back and forth after hours, and considered long after the immediate task is finished. We do not replace concern for a client’s success with a billable-stopwatch click.
Our story
A long-running studio in a new chapter.
1995
Where it began
The studio’s roots were planted in the San Francisco Bay Area as Diablo Web Development. We began creating cutting-edge websites (simple stuff by today’s standards) in the mid 1990s. We primarily served a small group of steady clients for many years before deciding to take on more clients.
2013
A new chapter
In 2013, after expanding our services, we decided to rebrand. The studio entered a new chapter as White Pyr Studio — named for Marley, the white Great Pyrenees whose steady companionship was part of the work from early mornings through late nights.
Today
Still personal
Over thirty years later, the founders remain part of WPS. The studio has expanded is fully remote, retains its San Francisco mailing address, and continues to maintain a San Francisco vibe from around the East Bay while working with clients anywhere in the world.
How we work
Present when needed. Invisible when not.
We are industry-neutral and consider projects case by case. What matters most is whether we can do useful work, communicate clearly, and be the kind of partner a client can count on.
01
No overselling
We recommend what serves the business—not the largest package or longest list of extras. If something is unnecessary, we will say so.
02
Small clients welcome
We have a soft spot for ordinary people building small businesses. A modest project receives the same care, curiosity, and respect as a larger one.
03
Support without hovering
We are available during business hours when questions arise and stay out of the way when everything is working as it should.
The spirit of WPS
Marley, Koda, and Luna
WPS does not put its human founders on display. Instead, three dogs playfully represent the personalities and roles behind the studio.
The designer
Marley — White Pyr
Marley came first: intelligent, eager to help, and the brains of the operation. He was the steady presence who helped make the work happen and the companion whose name became White Pyr Studio.
The coder
Koda — Black Newfie
Koda joined the family in January 2022. He is the workhorse, the big guy, and the protector on security detail—the one represented as building, guarding, and keeping the machinery running.
The people person
Luna — Sable Newfie
Luna joined in July 2022. She is the lovebug and first to greet someone new: the natural salesperson and relationship-builder of the group.
